PROJECT: DAMASCUS

On February 15, 2021 an EF-2 tornado impacted the city of Damascus, GA. Sirens Project arrived three days later to assist the community in clean up efforts. Upon arrival, it was evident that the United Methodist Disaster Response and Christian Aid Ministries teams had done a tremendous amount of work in removing storm debris.

Sirens Project was able to link up with the city mayor and identify three additional properties (including a Baptist Church) that needed assistance. A sawyer team comprised of five volunteers were deployed. Utilizing local heavy equipment, all three properties were cleared over the course four days. We also took this opportunity to help clear and remove hazardous debris that was still left over from Hurricane Michael in 2018.

Small town with a big heart. The residents of Damascus, GA were incredibly loving and hospitable. We were honored to play a small part in helping their community recover from the devastating tornado.
